Being one of the first providers of Rehabilitation Support Workers in the province of Ontario, we set the standard of excellence in service provision over 35 years ago and our continued focus is to lead as Ontario’s premier provider of highly experienced Rehabilitation Support Workers.

Rehabilitation Support Workers
Bartimaeus Rehabilitation Support Workers are non-regulated health professionals that provide direct therapy and transitional support to individuals recovering from an acquired brain injury and/or serious trauma. These supports are provided under the direction of regulated health professionals, coordinated by the Bartimaeus Rehabilitation Service Director and are provided in a variety of settings. Emphasis is placed on establishing therapeutic rapport, communicating effectively, prioritizing ongoing activities and developing practical strategies.
Our Rehabilitation Support Workers provide:

One-to-one cost efficient, therapeutically effective support by trained, skilled and experienced Rehabilitation Support Workers.

An individualized approach that allows unique interventions to be put in place. Service in the client’s community, which empowers the client and enhances the therapeutic impact of the service.

One-to-one support that can reduce the anxiety that can cause disruptive behaviour.

One-to-one support that can facilitate a smooth transition into school, specialized day programs or residential programs, for unusually complex situations.

Integration along a path to recovery, including support in hospital and health care service, return to school, work or vocational activities.
When to request a Rehabilitation Support Worker vs Personal Support Worker
Rehabilitation Support Workers are experienced, dedicated and skilled workers. They bring a wide range of skills developed from years of experience working with individuals who have an acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury or other serious trauma. Bartimaeus Rehabilitation Support Workers fulfill contracts and service requests that are of most interest to them and are an excellent match for their skills, abilities and availability.
Rehabilitation Support Workers:

Hold a relevant university degree or college diploma

Hold certification in home and community-based rehabilitation

Have a minimum of five years of full-time experience

Participate in ongoing support and in-service training under the direction of our Service Directors

Have experience in behavioural, life and social skills training and programming

Maintain up-to-date criminal reference checks including vulnerable sector screening

Are covered by professional liability insurance

Provide rehabilitation support in a variety of languages
